ABOUT ARTIST
Seemanthini Desai, is a painter, classical Odissi Dancer and a singer. Painting since childhood, her work adorns many private and corporate collections. "As a practising doctor and CEO of my diagnostic laboratory..with music and dance classes running back to back through the week I love to start my day with my painting..I developed techniques to play with shadows, light and to create textures..I often choose ancient sculpture and architecture be it stone carved or metal as my subjects..their history, intricacy and scale inspire me."

Seemanthini has sold many of her works to private collectors. Her interest in pencil sketching and drawing portraits haslead to her learning more about light and shadow which eventually has become one of the prominent character in her works. Seemanthini is a trained Hindustani Classical singer. She completed 6 Year(Equivalent to MA 1st Year) at Ravindra Bharti University, West Bengal. She is also an accomplished Indian Classical dancer ( Bharatanatyam, Odissi ) and has been performing across Karnataka state. Seemanthini writes articles and stories in Kannada
 and her writing has appeared in popular  Kannada weekly magazines
