Gallery Manora as a quaint ceramic studio

Gallery Manora is an exciting Creative Arts precinct in the heart of Bengaluru, with a vision to develop a thriving community in the field of Arts & Culture in Bengaluru, Karnataka and beyond.

Previously called Manora, Gallery Manora has an interesting history of being an eclectic retail store (2001 to 2003) which showcased unique, hand built ceramic functional ware, hand crafted designer furnishings exclusively designed by Manora and made from yarn to final form, by craftsmen all over India. It was a celebration of the classic and the contemporary, whilst maintaining the integrity of craft traditions of Indian antiquity. It also doubled up as an experimental ceramic studio equipped with a gas kiln developing ceramic glazes and running specialized ceramic art workshops.

Today, Gallery Manora’s excellent positioning on 100 feet road, Indra Nagar, the trendy new haute couture and fine dining precinct, will play a major role in developing a strong sense of Art appreciation and the importance of creative spaces in a busy urban landscape.

Contemporary Art Exhibitions featuring talented, Indian and International artists to stimulate rich global cross-cultural conversations will be curated by Gallery Manora every year. Gallery Manora aims to curate two Annual Art Prizes for Students and Emerging artists in Ceramic Sculptural, Visual Arts and Multi media including Sound and Video Art by 2018. Besides being an Art Exhibition Space, which can be hired by artists and galleries alike, Gallery Manora will be a creative space that will be hired out for carefully selected, boutique corporate events which value aesthetic integrity.

Gallery Manora is an intimate 1300 sq.ft.space, designed and built to be an open, well lit, exhibition space in warm neutral whites, quality lighting systems and adjustable hanging tracks for large format art, 17 feet high ceiling with heavy truss systems to hold art installations and 15 feet high display walls. It flows out to an enchanting break out area, in the landscaped courtyard. The casual but elegant ambience with a contemporary chic, will be a space the most discerning arts enthusiast, creative and corporate event managers alike are looking for, set right in the midst of one of the busiest parts of Bengaluru.
