Gallery Manora to host a specialized ceramic art exhibition - GONDWANA HORIZON

Art installation of celebrated Australian Ceramic Artist Barbara Campbell-Allen

Gallery Manora, a newly conceptualized, fine arts destination in Bangalore is all set to host its inaugural exhibition, GONDWANA HORIZON by celebrated Australian ceramic artist Barbara Campbell-Allen in Bangalore on 21st January 2017. Located in the heart of city - Indiranagar, the solo exhibition is conducted by Sydney based Art Weaves, an organization that promotes Australian Ceramic Art around the globe.

GONDWANA HORIZON by Barbara Campbell-Allen it brings into focus the artists’ personal experiences of a remote and vast Australian landscape evoking ancient rock forms, rivers and the skies of a landmass that broke away from Gondwanaland which stretched across the southern hemisphere millions of years ago.

The art installation comprises of three essential themes: Fossil Rocks series, the Old Rivers Series and the Cloud Series, expressive layers of narrative and form. As part of the exhibition, Barbara Campbell-Allen will also share her artistic journey inspiration, work, process and techniques during the course of the exhibition.

About Barbara Campbell-Allen: Barbara Campbell-Allen is a ceramic artist working in the subtle world of long wood fired ceramics. Originally trained at the National Art School in Sydney and later at the Gippsland Centre for Design and Art, Barbara Campbell-Allen holds a Masters of Arts (Visual Arts). Her work for this degree began an exploration into a contemporary interpretation of the extraordinary, naturally generated glaze effects only found in traditional wood firing techniques. Barbara Campbell-Allen utilises paper-clay, a blend of paper fibre and clay, which enables the making of light, highly sculpted work. Barbara Campbell-Allen’s work is widely exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions, and is published in the leading ceramics journals of Australia and America. She combines a successful art practice with teaching at the highly regarded Workshop Arts Centre in Sydney and the curating of ceramic exhibitions, notably the ‘Out of Earth’ series.
